When LM Wind Power wanted to implement a GPS, DIS was entrusted with the project of reviewing and updating the company’s engineering drawings worldwide.
A project team was formed including engineers from LM Wind Power with great insight into the product structures as well as a project manager and consultants from DIS, who are all experts in construction work and GPS. The project involved implementing GPS into the existing drawings and documentation as well as training of LM Wind Power staff.
GPS was implemented worldwide in LM Wind Power’s 14 production plants, ensuring consistent drawings with optimum tolerances.
GPS (Geometrical Product Specifications) is an international dimensioning and tolerancing system, which makes it possible to understand technical drawings all over the world. GPS ensures that the functional requirements and tolerancing is expressed uniformly worldwide.
